Capo Sant’Andrea

ACTIVE HOLIDAYS

Be inspired by extraordinary experiences, explore the coast, dive deep into the sea, give yourself a relaxing break on the beach and then, on foot or by mountain bike, scale the heights to touch the sky..

Snorkeling

Ready for an unforgettable adventure?

Snorkelling at Capo Sant’Andrea is a unique experience. The bay of Sant’Andrea, which is considered by many to be the best destination on Elba, has a large garden of sea grass from which numerous species of colourful fish peep out. Wouldn’t you like to go and see?

Kayaking

A fun sport for all

The best way to explore the beautiful caves and enchanted bays is by kayak. Gliding silently over the water you can get close to many animals, such as seagulls, cormorants and, with a little luck, even the delightful dolphins. By kayak you can stop in small coves that can only be reached from the sea.

A unique dive

Discover the timeless underwater paradise

To the fabulous scuba diving off Capo Sant’Andrea, add the special experience of Pianosa, just 40 minutes by boat from Capo Sant’Andrea. Thanks to the island’s 170 years of severely limited access, first as a penitentiary prison and later by the institution of the Tuscan Archipelago National Park Authority, Pianosa is a unique and incredibly well-preserved marine reserve.

TIPS: book your excursion to Pianosa at the Il Careno Diving Centre, which is authorised by the National Park, and just a few minutes after an easy departure from the beach of Sant’Andrea, you’ll discover a timeless paradise.

Trekking & Hiking

Take in the entire Tuscan Archipelago

Behind Capo Sant’Andrea, there is a maze of beautiful paths that frames the entire massif of Monte Capanne, the highest peak of the Tuscan Archipelago. Paths with unforgettable panoramic views, ideal for trekking and many also suitable for mountain bike lovers.

ADVICE: gradually ascending towards the summit of Monte Capanne, you’ll be captivated by a succession of wonderful landscape views; alternatively, take the Gran Traversata Elbana, which starts from nearby Patresi and takes you along the most panoramic ridges on Elba.

Mountain bike and assisted pedalling

Cycling in the Mediterranean maquis

The Capanne massif offers scenic routes of ups and downs and a great thrill for “fat wheels”. There are many challenging tracks, but if you’re looking for a more relaxing route, the Pedalta Valley has an itinerary suitable for the whole family, with arrival at a picturesque artificial lake, or at the Hotel Barsalini, in Sant’Andrea, which has a photovoltaic system and pedal assisted bicycles for hire.

Libeccio Trail Running

The energy of the mountain – 23 km of pure, clean air

The Libeccio Trail is an event not to be missed by lovers of free running because it offers an exciting run in a natural environment of green woods and pure air. 23 kilometers surrounded by one of the greenest valleys on Elba, made up of majestic trees, centuries-old chestnut trees, springs of fresh water and beautiful shrines. This itinerary is ideal for trail running training in the mountains, with the added bonus of unforgettable panoramic views.
